Patients with such conditions will be called to the surgery at the appropriate times.

Cancer of the cervix can be prevented and all female patients in Scotland between the ages of 25 to 64 are offered a smear test every five years. You will no longer be invited for cervical screening after the age of 65 unless results from previous screenings showed changes that need to be monitored.  Women under the age of 25 who have already been invited for screening may be invited again before they reach 25. Some women are also offered screening more frequently, up to the age of 70 years. These are important because they can detect early signs or precursors of the disease which is easily treated. The Health Baord operate a "call and recall" system to remind you about the tests.

Certain conditions and skin lesions are treated in the practice using a variety of surgical techniques and by utilising liquid nitrogen. We normally wish to discuss these problems with the patient in a normal surgery appointment first so please make an appointment in the usual way.

Contraceptive services are provided and tailored to an individual's requirement during normal surgery hours.
